Marta and Christine Sinclair led the WPS All-Stars to a 4-2 win over Swedish national champion Umea IK in the WPS All-Star Game presented by the Coast Guard on Sunday, Aug. 30 at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. Marta, the Los Angeles Sol forward and 2009 Michelle Akers WPS Player of the Year, scored a goal and added two assists while FC Gold Pride forward Christine Sinclair struck for a pair of goals. The Boston Breakers' Kristine Lilly also scored for the WPS All-Stars who were victorious in the inaugural WPS All-Star Game.

Dowling's goal launches Sky Blue FC into WPS Championship

The first goal of Keeley Dowling's WPS career lifted Sky Blue FC to a 1-0 victory over Saint Louis Athletica in the Super Semifinal on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. With the win, Sky Blue FC advances to meet the Los Angeles Sol in the WPS Championship presented by MedImmune on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 4pm ET/1pm PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. on Fox Sports Net and Comcast Sports Net (check local listings). Athletica goalkeeper Hope Solo made several spectacular saves in the loss.

The Saint Louis Athletica and FC Gold Pride tied, 1-1, on Sunday, July 26 at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. The Athletica's Niki Cross scored her first WPS goal in the 28th minute and FC Gold Pride's Christine Sinclair equalized in the 87th minute. Both goalkeepers - the Athletica's Hope Solo and FC Gold Pride's Nicole Barnhart - made key plays to keep the score knotted. With the tie, FC Gold Pride was eliminated from the WPS playoff hunt. The Athletica remain in second place in the WPS standings.
