Professional Career

2009
• Named WPS Goalkeeper of the Year.
• Member of inaugural WPS All-Star Team.
• Leading vote getter in fan balloting for All-Star Game.
• Started 17 of 17 games that she was available for. (Missed three games while on duty with the United States.)
• Was second in WPS for goals against average (GAA) with a mark of 0.82.
• Was second in shutouts (8), saves (84), wins (8), save percentage (86%), win percentage (59%)
• Stopped a penalty kick against Los Angeles on April 25 to earn first shutout of her WPS career.
• Recorded first WPS win on May 9 in a 1-0 shutout over FC Gold Pride.
• Posted back-to-back shutouts on three different occasions.
• Recorded first ever assist by goalkeeper in WPS history on August 9 against FC Gold Pride.


International Career

2009
• Played in and started six games for the United States.
• Posted a record of 5-0-1 with a GAA of 0.18 and had four shutouts.
• Made her 7th appearance in the annual Algarve Cup in southern Portugal, accompanied by her teammates Lori Chalupny and Angie Woznuk.
• Solo has now played in 19 games in goal in Portugal in her career, and has three Algarve Cup tournament championships to her credit.
• Named Algarve Cup “Player of Tournament.”

2008
• Solo was an Olympic gold medalist in the 2008 Beijing Games.
• Played in every minute of every game at the Olympics making critical saves throughout the tournament and in the gold medal match.
• Started 16 games, posting nine shutouts, for the USA heading into the Olympic Games.
• Started in goal in the championships games of the Four Nations Tournament, The Algarve Cup, and the Peace Queen Cup.

2007
• Started all three group games and quarterfinal of the Women’s World Cup in China, shutting out Sweden, Nigeria, and England.

2006
• Played in 18 matches posting a 14-0-4 mark for the year.
• Posted a streak of 1,054 minutes played without allowing a goal.

2005
• Solo started seven of the USA’s nine games, earning seven shutouts.
• Started three of four games at the Algarve Cup posting a clean sheet in each, including a shutout against Germany in the championship game.
• Played in the French Ligue 1 for Olympic Lyonnais.

2004
• Solo trained in the Olympic residency camp with the U.S. squad.
• She was named as an alternate goalkeeper of the Olympic Team.
• Solo was an Olympic gold medalist in the 2004 Athens Games.
• Played for Göteberg in Sweden’s women’s league.

2002
• Played five times for the USA starting three matches.
• Stood out at the Nordic Cup with the U.S. U-21 squad, arriving late because of training with full WNT. Came on at halftime of game against Finland and played every minute of the rest of the tournament.
• Made several crucial saves against Germany in Nordic Cup Final.

2001
• Starting keeper on the U-21 Nordic Cup championship team.

Collegiate Career

• A four-time All-Pac-10 selection. Finished her career as Washington's all-time leader in shutouts (18), saves (325) and GAA (1.02). Was named an NSCAA All-American as a sophomore, junior and senior.

2. If you didn’t play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try – and why?
A: Professional Beach Volleyball player, so I could work on my tan while being competitive.

3. What’s your perfect day off?
A: no interviews or signings to do.

4. What famous person most inspires you and why?
A: My father. The only man I know that could be genuinely happy with the simplicities of life. (although he is not famous, he certainly was on the streets of Seattle.

5. If you had a dinner party, who are the four people you would invite (can be living or dead)?
A: Barack Obama, Muhammed Ali, Roger Maris, and Phil Jackson.

6. If there were one adjective to describe you, what would it be?
A: cooperative

7. What’s on your workout / pre-game iPod playlist?
A: Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid, Jonas Bothers, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
