International Career

2005
• Member of the U.S. Women’s National Team at the Algarve Cup.
• Scored game-wining goal in championship match against Germany.
• Welsh won the Golden Boot Award as top score in Algarve Cup
tournament with an impressive five goals.

2004
• Scored against Brazil in her first game back with the U.S. after a
nearly two year absence.
• Member of the U.S. Olympic Residency Training Camp.

2002
• Welsh was a member of the U.S. U-21 National Team that won the
Nordic Cup Championship.

2000
• Welsh scored 11 goals in 15 games for the United States in her first
significant season with the full national team.
• Scored first career goal with the U.S. against the Czech Republic on
January 7 which was also the game she made her U.S. debut.

Professional Career

2009
• Selected with the 5th pick of the second round (12th overall) by the
Los Angeles Sol in the WPS General Player Draft.
• Appeared in three games for Los Angeles before being traded to
Saint Louis on May 9.

2005
• Played in the French First Division for Olympique Lyonnaise.

2004
• Played in the Swedish First Division for Karlsrund.

2003
• Selected second overall by the New York Power in the WUSA Draft.
• Scored six goals in 12 games during her rookie season.

Collegiate Career

2002
• Welsh ended her collegiate career at Penn State with 82 goals and 52
assists plus 27 game-winning goals which are all Big 10 records.
• Was the first player in NCAA women’s soccer history to be a four-
time NSCAA All-American.
• Was the runner-up for the M.A.C. Hermann Award

2001
• Welsh was awarded the M.A.C. Hermann Award in her junior year
• Won her third consecutive Big 10 Player of the Year award.

2000
• Led Penn State and the Big 10 in scoring with 17 goals and eight
assists in her sophomore year..

1999
• In her Freshman year Welsh tied for the national lead in scoring with
27 goals and 13 assists.
• Helped lead Penn State to their first ever Final Four appearance.

A: Water, Food, Good Company (My ipod with episodes of The Office)

2. If you didn’t play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try – and why?
A: Nature Photographer- I love the outdoors and I love taking pictures

3. What’s your perfect day off?
A: Spending time with my favorite people. I’m pretty easy going. There are tons of things I like to do. Depends on my mood. Stay in and watch tv, curl up on the couch, cook a big meal. If I am feeling adventurous; go for a hike, go out with my camera, take a bike ride, go for a long drive.

4. What famous person most inspires you and why?
A: I am more inspired by everyday people and how they manage life.

5. If there were one adjective to describe you, what would it be?
A: Caring

6. What’s on your workout / pre-game iPod playlist?
A: I don’t really listen to my ipod before games. But when it comes to music I’m a bit old school. I love 70s, 80s, 90s music.
