Open Positions

Director of Community & Media Relations

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and organized individual to direct all community relations activities, including managing the website, and media relations for CPWS.  This individual should be strategic in thinking about community and web based initiatives and their impact to connect people emotionally with our players, team and organization and promote a positive public image for CPWS. The candidate should have strong communication skills, a friendly disposition and must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and execute community programs that integrate and promote CPWS players, team and organization in the greater Chicago area.
  • Create and execute on-line social network based programs that create emotional connections between the public and our players, team and organization and extend the community outreach programs.
  • Direct and coordinate community outreach activities emphasizing public appearances for player and staff personnel.
  • Manage all media relations and coordinate press and team/staff interactions.
  • Create all media publications
  • Develop and solicit content for website
  • Other as needed

Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Experience with community relations and/or media relations is required
  • Proficiency with desk top publishing is preferred
  • Knowledge of website management required
  • Able to work with a diverse team of people
  • Able to manage interns and/or volunteers

This position will report to the General Manager.

Sponsorship & Marketing Manager

CPWS is seeking a highly motivated, organized and professional individual to manage marketing initiatives and sponsorship fulfillment for CPWS. This individual should be a self-starter who possesses strong communication skills and is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the creation of marketing initiatives
  • Manage the implementation of all marketing initiatives
  • Manage the fulfillment of contracts with all sponsorship partners including event planning/management and event/game day promotions.
  • Assist in the presentation and sale of sponsorships
  • Coordinate and assist with advertising and broadcast activities
  • Supervise marketing and sponsorship interns

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Experience in the sports industry required, preferably in marketing or sponsor fulfillment.
  • Candidates with ticket sales and/or sponsorship sales and service experience will be strongly considered.
  • Proficiency with presentation development and general office software is necessary.

This position will report to the General Manager.

Account Executive

We are seeking a highly motivated, focused and professional individual to sell season and group tickets for CPWS.  This person should recognize that ticket sales are the foundation for success for a professional sports franchise and enthusiastically help to exceed all sales goals. The position will require a comfort level with calling prospective buyers, as well as, face-to face-sales at events and in the community. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in the sports industry with an organization committed to success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage relationships in the soccer community that will drive season and group ticket sales.
  • Solicit season ticket sales and effectively manage the relationships that lead to season ticket renewals.
  • Develop new contacts with groups and organizations via phone calls and face-to-face presentations that lead to ticket sales.
  • Assist in the creation of initiatives that lead to season and group tickets.
  • Manage or assist with fulfillment for groups on game day/events
  • Other as needed

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Experience in sales and sports preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for soccer preferred
  • Goal oriented
  • Ability with season ticket database
  • Knowledge of Chicagoland and its soccer community
  • Able to work with management and a diverse team of people

The position will report to the Director of Ticket Sales.

Internships

We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and professional individuals to serve as interns with CPWS.  Interns will work with the marketing, sponsorship fulfillment and community relations departments. This is an excellent opportunity for experience with a professional sports team committed to success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support marketing, sponsorship and community relations initiatives including player appearances, contests, clinics and other community promotions
  • Attend various events to promote CPWS including grassroots soccer tournaments and other soccer events, street fairs, player appearances, camps and clinics, etc
  • Responsible for the set up and break down of CPWS booth and interactive games at events
  • Assist with various office tasks
  • Other as needed

Qualifications:

  • Outgoing enthusiastic personality
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for soccer preferred
  • Equivalent of high school diploma; some college preferred
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings
  • Must be able to drive to events

Interns will report to the General Manager.
