President/CEO:
Thomas Hofstetter, grew up playing soccer in his native Germany, and continued through adulthood in an over-35 indoor league in the U.S. He built a management consulting group and private equity investment company (Exolution, Inc.), and is the CEO of Points Medical, which provides strategic consulting and outsourcing services to various industries. He is also the father of four soccer-playing children, three of them girls.
General Manager:
Gioia DiFlumeri (732-271-3511) - After graduating from Caldwell College in northern New Jersey, DiFlumeri immediately began her professional career with the Women’s Sports Foundation in Long Island. She then served as the Venue Manager at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, for the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which the U.S. Women’s National Team won in dramatic fashion. After working with Event Transportation Associates in California, she then became the Team Operations Manager for the New York Power of the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA), managing the team’s financial and operations department. WUSA shut down in 2003, and DiFlumeri then became the Finance and Operations Manager for the non-profit Newark Renaissance House in New Jersey. After some time had passed, the lure of soccer pulled her back, and she became the Director of Operations for the New Jersey Ironmen of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) in 2007. She remained with the Ironmen for both seasons that it competed before coming on board with Sky Blue FC.
CFO: Mary Smoot (732-271-5232) - started her career as a CPA with KPMG in Stamford, Connecticut. She then worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Greenwich Financial Corporation for eight years and worked as a consultant for several companies, primarily in the financial services industry, prior to joining Sky Blue Soccer in June 2009. Smoot has a BSBA from Bucknell University. She is an active volunteer for Bernards High School and the Visiting Nurses Association of Somerset Hills. She has three soccer daughters and a son. In their earlier years of soccer, Smoot has coached all of her children’s teams.
