WPS Camps is proud to announce that Sky Blue FC defender Danielle Johnson will make a WPS Player Appearance during the WPS Camp that runs from July 26th-30th at Waverly Shell Rock Soccer Complex. Danielle Johnson is an Ole Miss University Alumni, where she was a scholar All-American and first Rebel to receive All-SEC and All-Region honors all four years. She was a fouth round draft pick of the 2010 WPS Draft, and has plays and starts regularly for Sky Blue FC. |
“The Waverly-Shell Rock Soccer Association chose to host a WPS Camp for several reasons”, said Jim Maltas, President of WSRSA. “The first is so that our female players could experience the highest quality coaching we could find at a reasonable price. We are located in a small Northeast Iowa community with limited access to professional sports, so this is a great opportunity for our girls, and the girls throughout the region. The second is to show off the facility that our soccer community has built. We are very proud of our nine-field complex - we feel we have one the premier soccer facilities in this part of the country.”
The facility Maltas speaks proudly of is the Waverly Shell Rock Soccer Complex, which is host to club teams from the Waverly Shell Rock Community of the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Association (CVYSA). It also holds a plethora of high-profile games in Iowa, including the largest boys and girls’ high school tournaments in the state, NCAA Division I, II, and III matches, as well as college and high school playoff and conference tournaments.
WSRSA has 383 players ranging from U7 to U19, and is part of the more than three thousand player CVYSA, composed of communities within 25 miles of Waterloo-Cedar Falls, Iowa. CVYSA’s recreational league is a feeder program for the Iowa Premier Soccer League.
Registration is now open for the WPS Camp, hosted by the Waverly Shell Rock Soccer Association from July 26th-30th. Visit www.WPSCamps.com to sign up today!
