Sky Blue FC's Dallstream will be heading home to her native Arizona to be the featured player at the Phoenix Camp! Kiersten Dallstream started her soccer career when she was five years old in Fountain Hills, Arizona, for a team called the Hot Shots. She started her professional career by getting picked up by Sky Blue FC in the second round of the Sol's dispersal draft; she plays regularly, and has recorded one assist for Sky Blue. Previous to this, she won a Gold Medal at the 2008 Fifa U-20 World Cup. |
Arizona Soccer Club (AZSC) is one of sixteen exclusive clubs across the nation selected to host a WPS Camp this summer. From July 19 to 23, the camp will be held in Crossroads Park in Gilbert, Arizona, and is open to all other clubs and players in the area.
“AZSC has made the commitment to partner with WPS to increase the awareness of the game of soccer in the East Valley” Michael Briseno, President of the Arizona Soccer Club Board of Directors said. “The soccer community in this part of Phoenix is continuously growing, and we feel this partnership is the next step to bringing a higher level of women’s soccer to the area.”
The club has made significant progress in doing just that since its inception in 2003. Beginning with 31 recreational teams and 333 players, in just 7 seasons AZSC has grown to 140 recreational teams, with an additional 17 competitive teams in its Thunder Club.
AZSC is dedicated to establishing traditions that encourage a sense of P.R.I.D.E: Passion, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Excellence. This matches with the unique curriculum of WPS Camps, which embodies WPS core values of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship on and off the field. Highlighted by an appearance from a WPS player at the camp, AZSC understands the importance of learning from competitors in the highest level of soccer, and continues to build its own professional staff who boast backgrounds playing and coaching within the U.S. Women’s National Team, Brazilian Professional Soccer, and Arizona State University.
Registration is now open for the WPS Camp, hosted by AZSC from July 19 to July 23. Visit www.WPSCamps.com, or contact susan@arizonasoccerclub.com
