WPS Camps is proud to announce that Washington Freedom defender Cat Whitehill will make a WPS Player Appearance in Memphis, TN, during the WPS Camp that runs from July 20-24.

About  Cat Whitehill: Whitehill, who has scored 11 goals in 129 matches for the USWNT was a member of the 2004 gold-medal winning U.S. squad at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Whitehill also represented the U.S. at the 2003 and 2007 Women's World Cups. In 2003, she became the only defender to score two goals in a World Cup game.

May 4, 2009 -- WPS Camps have partnered with the premier soccer facility in TN, The Mike Rose Soccer Complex, to bring a WPS Camp to Memphis from July 20-24.

The Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tennessee sits on 136.17 acres conveniently off Bill Morris Parkway. The Mike Rose Soccer Complex was designed to accommodate exhibition games, tournaments, league games, special events, as well as academies, camps and clinics, and coaches' symposiums.

Assistant General Manager Simon Lacon stated, "We are proud to partner with WPS Camps to bring professional women's soccer to our complex. We have an extensive reach and strong relationships with all the clubs in the area and we will be striving to get a positive enrollment for the camp. I think the alignment of TN's premier soccer facility with the world's premier women's league, is a perfect match."

There are 16 FIFA dimension (115 yds X 75 yds), hybrid Sports Bermuda grass, and lighted playing fields and a 2,500 plus seat stadium. The fields have a drainage system to assure quick dissipation of water during rain periods. In addition, a state of the art irrigation system is provided to guarantee a healthy stand of grass. Accompanying these fields are fully paved walkways, paved parking spots, permanent restrooms, shaded pavilions, a maintenance building with top of the line John Deere equipment, picnic and recreation area, and a 3-acre lake.
