The Triangle Futbol Club located outside of Raleigh in Hillsborough, NC today became the latest partner club to host a WPS Camp.
WPS Camps will be held July 20-24 at Cedar Fork Park with Triangle Futbol Club opening the camp to other clubs and players in the area to maximize participation.
Founded in 1999, the Triangle Futbol Club serves players of all ages and abilities in the Triangle area (Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill), from those learning to love the game, to those at the highest levels of competitive play. TFC is committed to providing excellent coaching, opportunities for players to develop their optimal playing abilities, and a professionally managed organization to coordinate the program for the benefit of coaches, players, parents, and the Triangle community.
"We are delighted to welcome the Triangle Futbol Club as a WPS Camp host partner club," stated David Madlin, WPS Camps Regional Director. North Carolina has always been one of the nation’s hotbeds of girls’ soccer and we are optimistic that our camp will reflect this pattern. North Carolina also has numerous WPS player connections (either college or home state) so I imagine we could have a fight on our hands when it comes to assigning the player appearance for the camp.”
Los Angeles Sol defender Kendall Fletcher hails from Cary, North Carolina and 12 players in WPS played for the legendary UNC women’s soccer program.
TFC has just over 300 girls playing u10-u18. In addition, their u20 Super Y League team is the reigning North American Champions.
