LOS ANGELES SOL VS. VS. CHICAGO RED STARS
Today's game marks the second meeting between the Los Angeles Sol and the Chicago Red Stars this season. The teams' last meeting at The Home Depot Center on June 3 ended with a 1-1 tie, with Camille Abilly scoring the game-tying goal for the Sol in the 90th minute after the Red Stars had taken the lead just two minutes before. The Los Angeles Sol look to capture a third consecutive win and extend their unbeaten streak to ten games as they return back to their home field today.
LAST GAME RECAP
The Los Angeles Sol defeated the Saint Louis Athletica 2-1 at Anheuser Busch Soccer Park Wednesday night. The Athletica and Sol exchanged numerous shots on goal in the first half, but remained scoreless leading into the second half. Five minutes into the second half, Han Duan achieved her second goal of the season. Aly Wagner assisted Brazilian star Marta in the 73rd minute to put the Sol ahead by two. The Athletica quickly retaliated with a goal by Kerri Hanks. Sol goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc stood her ground against the Athletica's shots on goal, with eight great saves. The Athletica's Hope Solo blocked numerous shots on goal, but proved not to be enough to fend off the Los Angeles Sol.

LOS ANGELES SOL NEWS & NOTES
Sol Sign Lyndsey Patterson
The first-place Los Angeles Sol announced the signing of forward Lyndsey Patterson to a developmental contract this week. Patterson, 26, a three-time All-SEC selection with the University of Tennessee , finished her four-year career with the Lady Vols ranked seventh all-time in scoring (64 points), eighth in goals (20), and sixth in assists (24). She also led Tennessee to back-to-back SEC regular season titles in 2003 and 2004, in addition to SEC tournament crowns in 2002 and 2003.
Webcast
For the second time this season, the Sol will be live on the web. Today the game will be accessible for fans at 10 a.m. (PT) at www.LosAngelesSol.com. The last Sol webcast was on June 3 at The Home Depot Center.
Marta Nominated for ESPY
The current and three-time FIFA World Player of the Year, Marta has been nominated in the category of Best Female International Athlete. She will be competing against Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, Mexican golfer Lorena Ochoa, Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice and Russian tennis player Dinara Safina. The ESPYS, which take place July 15 and air July 19, are the one night each year where athletes from all sports join together to celebrate the best moments of the year.
Sol Sisters
In the last two games, the Sol's Camille Abily and Marta have become the top two players in the league with the most goals scored. Abily became the WPS goal-scoring leader, with seven, when the Sol defeated FC Gold Pride (Bay Area) June 21. Marta passed Christine Sinclair (Bay Area) on June 24, when they beat Saint Louis Athletica, to now stand alone with the second-most goals in the league with six.
Streak Hits Nine
With a nine-game unbeaten streak, it's no wonder why the Sol are sitting comfortably in first place. They are 6-0-3 in their last nine games, which means their last loss, against the second-place Boston Breakers, was May 2. In addition, they are 6-0-2 at The Home Depot Center. A win or a tie over the Red Stars means the Sol would have gone two complete months without a loss.
