1. What are the three things you can never be without while traveling?
Music, a sketchbook, and lots of snacks.
2. If you didn’t play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try – and why?
Personal training or a professor at a university. Personal training because I love working out and being in a fitness atmosphere. A professor because I really love to learn and share opinions with others. University was a really great experience for me and a lot of it was due to some of my influential professors. It would be nice to be able to be a part of such an academic environment.
3. What’s your perfect day off?
Well if I still lived in Vancouver the perfect day off would have to be waking up, strolling to Starbucks, getting a coffee, taking a walk along the beach with my partner and my dogs, going to Granville Island (there's a market there with art, food, all sorts of entertainment). Maybe some shopping, contribute to my T-shirt collection, visit a bookstore, and then going for a good mountain climb later in the day. Oh yes and of course catching some live music outdoors, I love live music - that would be a perfect day for me.
4. What famous person most inspires you and why?
I think famous people who use their money and their popularity for the good of the world in general are inspiring. They could be using it on themselves but instead they donate their time and money to those in need. There are endless examples like Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Natalie Portman, Bono, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, and the list goes on.
5. If you had a dinner party, who are the four people you would invite (can be living or dead)?
Jesus, Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, and Richard Dawkins.
6. If there were one adjective to describe you, what would it be?
Unique.
7. What’s on your workout / pre-game iPod playlist?
Led Zeppelin, Shiny Toy Guns, Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Tegan and Sara Moby, Coldplay, Kanye West, Madonna, The Shins, Chairlift, Concrete Blond, Heart, Timbaland.
