Position Title: Director of Ticket Sales

Reports to: President and General Manager

Position Description/Summary: The Washington Freedom, a new franchise in the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS) seeks a passionate, highly motivated Director of Ticket Sales.  The Director of Ticket Sales position is one of the most critical positions in the organization. The position is responsible for planning, implementing, and executing a tactical ticket sales plan to achieve targeted levels of ticket sales units and revenue goals, plus customer retention through new and renewal sales of season, flex packs, group and individual tickets.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and manage a staff of a minimum of 4 full time ticket sales professionals, up to 4 inside sales team representatives and a customer service representative.
  • Work with Team President to develop a comprehensive 2009 and 2010 proactive ticket sales and retention plan.
  • Meet and exceed organizational sales goals through increase in sales of season tickets, partial plans, and group tickets to companies and individuals via the phone, prospecting, personal appointments, and at games.
  • Devise & implement new initiatives to drive ticket sales (season, group and game day) within the soccer & business communities.
  • Lead interaction with marketing, and website leads to develop marketing materials to support sales efforts. 
  • Assist with data name capture efforts and database management control.
  • Help build and foster a sales culture within the entire organization.
  • Responsible for creation of all individual, season ticket, and group sales budgets.  Also responsible for creation and execution of ticket sales collateral materials.
  • Responsible for weekly reporting of sales numbers and tracking to senior management
    and ownership.
  • Work closely with D.C. United ticket operations and ticket sales staff to ensure ticket fulfillment and high levels of customer service via contracted agreement between DC United of the MLS and the Washington Freedom.
  • Execute effective corporate and non-corporate sales calls and presentations promoting
    the purchase of the team's ticket products to meet established sales objectives.
  • Identify key partnerships within the community to develop strategic sales initiatives. Represent the club in key community event, corporate networking events and youth soccer events
  • Oversee the fulfillment for groups on game day/events.

Position Requirements/Qualifications

  • College Bachelors degree/diploma required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven sales success required, previous ticket sales experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years previous professional sports experience preferred.
  • Management and leadership experience preferred.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary consistent with MLS Directors of Ticket Sales.
  • Bonus over-ride opportunities for total ticket sales revenue, season ticket revenue and group sales revenue.
