Helped the Eagles reach the league semifinals in 2006 and named to W-League Team of the Week honors in 2008. Played professionally for two seasons in Brazil, with Santos Futebol Clube in Santos, Sao Paulo in 2006 and Cotia Futsal Clube in 2007.
College:
  • Recorded 24 points in college career on five goals and 14 assists. Helped lead Clemson to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and three straight years of finishing ranked in the top 25. Ended her college career with 60 consecutive matches started, a streak dating back to the beginning of her sophomore season. Named team Most Valuable Player as a senior in 2005. Three-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

  • Full name is Lydia Kathleen Vandenbergh. Daughter of Cheryl Holmes and Jared Vandenbergh. Has three younger sisters, Anna, Martha and Rachel. Drafted by Saint Louis Athletica in the 10th round of the 2009 WPS General Draft. Served as a volunteer assistant coach at Florida State University in 2008. Also has coaching experience at high school and club levels around the Charlotte, N.C. area. From 2005-08 coached several camps and clinics affiliated with the Charlotte Eagles both in the United States and abroad in Brazil, Singapore and Thailand. Graduated from Clemson in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in computer science.

A: iPod, crosswords, gum

2. If you didn’t play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try – and why?
A: I would be a pro mountain biker because I grew up watching my dad do it and I love going downhill fast!!

3. What’s your perfect day off?
A: Waking up without an alarm …a big cup of coffee …pancakes …watching a cuddly movie …being outside in WARM weather with friends.

4. What famous person most inspires you and why?
A: Jesus because his life was all about joy, love, and freedom!!!!

5. If you had a dinner party, who are the four people you would invite (can be living or dead)?
A: Taye Diggs, Rob Bell, my best friend, Tamtam, and my dad.

6. If there were one adjective to describe you, what would it be?
A: Joyful.
