International:
  • 2008: 2008 Olympic gold medalist.  Played in 2 games, tallying 1 assist.  Made her first WNT roster and debuted for the full team in March of 2008 at the Algarve Cup in Portugal, starting and playing the full 90 minutes against China.  Earned her first 13 caps in 2008 leading into the Olympics, starting six games. Trained with the National Team in the 2007 residency program and at a December 2007 mini-camp.

Youth:
  • Member of the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team.  Captained the U.S. U-21s to the 2007 Nordic Cup title.  Played every minute of the 2006 Nordic Cup where the U-21s finished second.  Helped the U-21s to the 2005 Nordic Cup title.  Played every minute at the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Cup where the U.S. finished third after recovering from ACL tears in both of her knees.  Her first ACL tear occurred just minutes into the 2002 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Cup Final, which the U.S. went on to win.  Buried a penalty kick in the first-round win over Chinese Taipei in 2002. Has also competed with the U-17 and U-16 National Teams.

College:
  • Won the NCAA Top VIII Award and was named a second-team NSCAA All-American and first-team All-Pac-10 as a senior in 2007.  Anchored a Cardinal defense that allowed just .74 goals per game and recorded nine shutouts in 2007.  A 2006 All-Pac-10 First Team selection and M.A.C. Hermann Trophy Semifinalist as she started all 23 games for the Cardinal.  Earned Second Team All-Pac-10 accolade as a redshirt sophomore in 2005 while starting all 20 games.  Redshirted in 2004 to compete with the U.S. U-19s.  Played in 15 games and made eight starts for the Cardinal in her freshman season.

High School / Youth Club:
  • Twice named a Parade Magazine All-American (2002, and 2003). Named the Torrey Pines' Defender of the Year in 2000 and Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002. Captained her high school squad during her junior and senior seasons. Named the 2001 and 2002 Palomar League Player of the Year. Earned First Team All-CIF and All-Palomar League honors for three-straight years (2000-02). A four-year letterwinner in soccer. Competed for the San Diego Surf Soccer Club for seven years. Named the club's 2003 Player of the Year. Played on the NSCAA U-16 and U-17 Youth All-America teams.

Personal:
  • Daughter of Donald and Mary Ellen Buehler. Father, Donald, was a member of Stanford's water polo and wrestling teams.  Majored in human biology/pre-medicine.
