Yokers had an immediate impact as a central midfielder for Cal as a freshman and
her game continued to get better as she began to get recognition at the national level. She
made 20 starts for the Golden Bears and finished tied for fourth on the team with 3 goals
and 6 assists as a sophomore. Her six assists were second-most on the team and she was
selected second team All-Pac-10 and third team All-West region by the NSCAA and Soccer
Buzz. Yokers was also named honorable mention Academic All-Pac-10. Started 20 of the 21
games she played in tallied eight points to lead all Cal freshmen. In 2000, she had three goals
and two assists and was selected to the Bay Area Classic all-tournament team.
Youth/Club:
- Yokers was a three-time all-league honoree at Mt. Rainier High School in Des
Moines, WA. She was a two-time selection to the Valley News all-area team and a two-time
team MVP helping lead her high school team to second in the state in 1999 and third in 1997.
In addition, her club team, the Highline Eagles, won the Washington State Cup five times.
Personal:
Kimberly R. Yokers was a Legal Studies major at Cal and her parents are Tim and Sally
Yokers. She supports Green Laces, a program of International Humanities Center that
supports earth-friendly causes and provides a solution for a better planet. She does youth
coaching with Sutton Soccer Indoor Skills training facility and with Bay Oaks Youth Soccer
Club coaching U-10 girls.
