Selected in the second round (eighth overall) of the WPS International Draft

International:
  • Sinclair has spent nine years with the Canadian National Team participating in two World Cups in 2007 and 2003 and one Olympic Games in 2008. She is Canada's all-time leading goal scorer and won both the Golden Ball and Golden Boot in helping Canada to the silver medal at the 2002 FIFA U-19 Women's World Cup. She is the reigning, three-time (2006-2008) Canadian Soccer Association Player of the Year. Was twice honored by FIFA as a Nominee for World Player of the Year and was named to the prestigous "short list" in 2008.

College:
  • Sinclair starred at the University of Portland winning the MAC Hermann trophy in back-to-back years (2004, 2005). She helped the Pilots win NCAA titles in 2002 and 2005. She was named Freshman of the Year by Soccer America magazine, and was a consensus All-America selection.

Youth/Club:
  • Sinclair had a successful youth soccer career playing with provincial teams. She proved to be a potential star at a very young age, as she was first selected to British Columbia's under-14 girls' all-star team at age 11. She went on to lead her club teams to six league titles, five provincial titles, and two top-five national finishes, as well as leading her high school team at Burnaby South Secondary School to three league championships.

Personal:
  • Full name is Christine Margaret Sinclair and she is the niece of former North American Soccer League player Bruce Gant and niece of former Canadian international and NASL player Brian Gant.

My computer, cell phone, and PSP.

2) If you didn't play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try?
I?ve always been interested in physical therapy.

3) What's your perfect day off?
Sleeping in, a relaxing iced caramel latte, and taking my dog to the dog park.

4) What famous person most inspires you?
Wayne Gretzky as he is the ultimate Canadian role model. Not to mention the best hockey player ever!

5) If you had a dinner party, who are the four people you would invite (can be living or dead)?
I would invite Ellen DeGeneres, Steven Gerrard, Oprah and Barack Obama.

6) What's on your workout/pre-game iPod playlist?
Michael Jackson and whatever new songs happen to be out.

7) What was your first job?
I delivered newspapers.

8) Do you have any pets?
I have a Pomeranian called Nutmeg and a cat called Casey who lives with my parents back in Canada.

9) When did you start playing soccer?
I started playing at age 4.

10) What is your favorite thing about playing soccer?
The people you meet along the way.

Steven Gerrard.

Probably one of the Brazilians because they would keep me entertained.
