College:
  • Whitworth played for Auburn University from 2005-2008 where she tended goal for the Tigers in 73 games during her collegiate career while holding opponents to a 1.13 goals against average, shutting out opponents in 22 games. In her final season at Auburn, Whitworth collected a school-record 132 saves in 23 games giving her an Auburn-best 356 stops in her collegiate career. She was recognized as the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Scholar Athlete of the Year and named to the All-SEC first team. In 1997 Whitworth tied the school record by making 102 saves during the season and was named to the All-SEC second team. She earned the starting job her sophomore year at Auburn, earning Academic All-SEC honors, second team NSCAA Scholar All-Region and SEC Player of the Week twice during the season.

Youth/Club:
  • Whitworth graduated from Briarwood Christian High School and played for Andrew Brower where she was the state tournament MVP in 2002.

Personal:
  • Full name is Allison Leigh Whitworth and she is the daughter of Bill and Denise Whitworth. She has three brothers, Benjamin (25), Michael (20) and Patrick (18). Whitworth was a Member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. In high school, she was the Treasurer of the National Honor Society from 2002 to 2004. Student Council Representative from 2002 to 2003 and won the ACSI Math Award in 2001.

1) What are the three things you can never be without while traveling?
Coffee, my iPod, and my bible.

2) If you didn't play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try?
I've secretly always wanted to write novels. I'd also like to be a professional snowboarder.

3) What's your perfect day off?
It would involve sleeping in and getting an amazing breakfast that included good coffee. Then I would spend some time reading or hiking and exploring mountains, hills, forests and waterfalls.

4) What famous person most inspires you?
Most famous people don't tend to inspire me. Everyday people who get no recognition for the work they do for others inspire me.

5) If you had a dinner party, who are the four people you would invite (can be living or dead)?
Inviting 4 people to a dinner party would be awkward numbers-wise so I would invite 5. I would invite either my parents and 3 brothers, or my friends Erin, Maria, Sarah, Ali and Aubrey.

6) What's on your workout/pre-game iPod playlist?
I listen to really chill music with lots of acoustic guitar before games. I like Shawn McDonald, Phil Joel, Lifehouse, and Jennifer Knapp.

7) What was your first job?
Playing soccer with the FC Gold Pride!

8) Do you have any pets?
I have a cat named Pepper that is staying with my parents.

9) When did you start playing soccer?
I started playing at age 4 and I played on a boy's team until I was 11 or 12.

10) What is your favorite thing about playing soccer?
Being with a team is the best thing about soccer.

11) Who is your favorite Soccer Player?
Cat Whitehill as she was my hero when I was little.

12) Who is your favorite non-WPS team?
Barcelona as I think that answer gets me the most points.

13) If you had to sell all of your possessions, what is the one thing you couldn't part with?
My iPod.

14) What is something you always have in your soccer bag?
Lately It's been a tennis ball.

15) If you were stranded on a deserted island with one of your current FC Gold Pride teammates, who would it be and why?
Either Leigh Ann or Barnie, as they both are so chill that being stranded would be fun instead of daunting.
