Jennifer Pogorelec O'Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer
Jennifer Pogorelec O'Sullivan joined WPS as the League's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on September 21, 2011, becoming the League's highest ranking female official.
An attorney with extensive business and leadership experience in professional sports, O'Sullivan most recently served as the Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Constituency Management Group (CMGRP), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), where she delivered strategic counsel for various IPG agencies including the global sports and entertainment agency, Octagon, Inc.
Prior to that, O'Sullivan held the post of Vice President of Legal and Labor Affairs with the Arena Football League (AFL) providing her expertise in strategic leadership, collective bargaining and labor relations, media and business partnerships, sponsorship, marketing, litigation and dispute resolution. She also served as the League's acting General Counsel.
O'Sullivan began her legal career as Law Clerk/Staff Attorney with the National Football League (NFL) Management Council in New York. Following her time with the NFL, O'Sullivan served with the business litigation firms of Conway and Conway, Edwards Angell Palmer and Dodge, LLP and Nixon Peabody, LLP in New York, NY.
A graduate of the University of Richmond, where she received a B.A. in Political Science, and The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law O'Sullivan is also a member of the National Board of Directors for Women in Sports and Events (WISE), the Sports Lawyers Association, the Association of the City Bar of New York, and the New York State Bar Association.
Kristina Hentschel, Corporate Development Officer & Chief Financial Officer
Hentschel comes to Women's Professional Soccer with a 15-year background in accounting, finance and business development including more than three years as Executive Director of GirlVentures, a community-based nonprofit organization in San Francisco with a mission to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths through outdoor adventure, creative arts, and group experiences. At GirlVentures, Hentschel oversaw a 50% growth in office staff and doubling the organization's annual budget within a few years.
Prior to GirlVentures, Hentschel worked as a corporate controller and management consultant at a variety of San Francisco-area start-up companies, as well as nearly five years at global accounting and consultant giant Deloitte & Touche LLP from 1995-1999 where she earned her CPA.
Hentschel has Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Michigan and dual Masters of Business Administration degrees from Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley through the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA Program. She is a former professional triathlete and four-time Ironman finisher and played on the varsity tennis team at the University of Michigan.
