The Washington Freedom is pleased to lead the Freedom Inspires initiative for the benefit of youth in our community. Freedom Inspires connects youth from Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and beyond with the benefits of a healthy lifestyle via alliances with leading organizations in our area.

When donations are made to the Freedom by supporters and well-wishers, these funds are routed to the Freedom Inspires Youth Initiative.  Together with our alliance partners, Freedom Inspires then provides a variety of tailored, meaningful experiences to youth, including special access privileges, player appearances, gameday involvement and custom programming.

As 2007 W-League Champions and 2003 WUSA Founders Cup Champions, the Washington Freedom knows the value of teamwork. One of the guiding principles of our program is that collaborative skills developed through fun, educational activities can be easily translated to the classroom and community. The Freedom also recognizes the inspirational value of exposing youth to exceptional athletes and world-class competitions and believes that doing so can help them to gain a new appreciation for the positive outcomes associated with dedication, teamwork and commitment.

Our program benefits a wide range of youth, including those in need of positive role models, those with special needs and those enduring challenges related to nutrition and health. Freedom Inspires seeks to make a difference in the lives of kids in our community and inspire them to dream without limits and reach higher. The entire Washington Freedom organization – including players, coaches and staff – is committed to this important initiative.

The U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Passback Program is designed to help meet the soccer uniform and equipment needs of youth in all communities, regardless of income, gender or location. To learn more, visit www.passback.org.
