Westwood, Mass. (March 22, 2010) – The Boston Breakers fell to the 2009 WPS Champions Sky Blue FC 2-0 on Saturday afternoon during a preseason exhibition match at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.  The game was the second of four scrimmages the Breakers will play during the team’s 10-day training camp in Florida.

After scoreless first half, Sky Blue FC came out fast in the second, when Carli Lloyd won a header battle against Breakers defender Alex Scott, and sent the ball into the net for the eventual game-winning goal at the 48th minute.

In the later part of the second half, Sky Blue FC forward Natasha Kai connected for another header, making the final score 2-0.

The Boston Breakers 2010 first round draft pick Lauren Cheney has arrived at camp, but didn’t make her WPS debut on Saturday.

With two exhibition matches remaining before heading back to Boston, the Breakers will next take on 2010 WPS Expansion Team the Atlanta Beat for the first time on Tuesday at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla. at 7 p.m.
