BEAT ANNOUNCE THREE-DAY INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

KENNESAW, GA (October 28, 2010) - The Atlanta Beat of Women’s Professional Soccer held a press conference today announcing Torneo de las Americas (Tournament of the Americas), a three-day U-20 men’s tournament featuring the United States, Mexico and Colombia. The tournament begins Friday, Nov. 26 and concludes Sunday, Nov. 28 as it marks the second event of the El Patrón International Soccer Series at KSU Soccer Stadium.
"After last week announcing an international friendly between Guatemala and Guyana, it is with great pleasure that we announce Torneo de las Americas,” said Scott Spencer, Atlanta Beat director of special events. “We look forward to showcasing these exciting matches at the only soccer specific facility in the Southeast.”
Torneo de las Americas kicks-off Friday, Nov. 26 at 3:30PM when the USA hosts Colombia. The U.S. U-20 men recently won the prestigious Milk Cup in Northern Ireland and are expected to have a roster of all professional players.
The second match of the tournament features Mexico against Colombia in a Latin American showdown at 3:30 PM before the USA and Mexico meet in the grand finale on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 3:30PM.
Tickets to the event start at $14 per game and are on sale to the public Thursday, Oct. 28 at Noon EST through www.theatlantabeat.com and at the KSU Soccer Stadium ticket box office (on day of game). Tickets are also available at
